Eurozone July CPI up 2.6% yr/yr vs up 2.5% in June
EU July CPI up 2.8% yr/yr vs up 2.6% in June (Il Sole 24 Ore Radiocor) - Brussels , 20 Aug - In July 2024, consumer prices in the eurozone were unchanged compared to the previous month and up 2.6% year on year after rising at a 2.5% annual pace in June, according to data from European Union statistical office Eurostat.
For the EU as a whole, consumer prices were up by 0.1% month on month and by 2.8% year on year after rising at an annual rate of 2.6% in June.
Among EU member states, the lowest lowest annual rates were registered in Finland (0.5%), Latvia (0.8%) and Denmark (1.0%). The highest annual rates were recorded in Romania (5.8%), Belgium (5.4%) and Hungary (4.1%). Compared with June 2024, annual inflation fell in nine member states, remained stable in four and rose in 14.
In July 2024, the highest contribution to the annual euro area inflation rate came from services (up 1.82 percentage points), followed by food, alcohol & tobacco (up 0.45 points), non-energy industrial goods (up 0.19 points) and energy (up 0.12 points).
