May composite PMI 54.1 vs 52.8 in April - Caixin (Il Sole 24 Ore Radiocor) - London, 05 Jun - In May, China's purchasing managers' index for the services sector rose 54.0 from 52.5 in April, according to data released by S&P Global along with local media partner Caixin.

A reading above 50 signals expanding sector activity while one below indicates a contraction.

The composite output index rose to 54.1 from 52.8, to indicate that Chinese business activity expanded for a seventh successive month and at the fastest pace in a year.

Composite indices are weighted averages of comparable manufacturing and services indices.
