Aug composite index 51.2, unchanged vs July (Il Sole 24 Ore Radiocor) - London , 04 Sep - In August, China's purchasing managers' index for the services sector fell to 51.6 from 52.1 in July, according to data released by S&P Global along with local media partner Caixin.

"This extended the period of expansion that commenced in January 2023, though with the rate of growth being among the lowest in the year-to-date," according to a statement.

A reading above 50 signals expanding sector activity while one below indicates a contraction.

The composite output index stood at 51.2, unchanged compared to the previous month.

Composite indices are weighted averages of comparable manufacturing and services indices.
