Total 20.8 bln Canadian dlr (Il Sole 24 Ore Radiocor) - Ottawa, 18 Jul - Month over month, investment in building construction in Canada edged up 0.8% to 20.8 billion local dollars in May, rebounding from a 2.0% decrease in April, according to Statistics Canada.

Both residential, up 0.9% to 14.4 billion dollars, and non-residential, up 0.6% to 6.4 billion, sectors rose slightly in May.

On a constant dollar basis, investment in building construction was up 0.9% in May.
