Canada June manufacturing sales down 2.1% mth/mth -2-

June manufacturing inventories up 0.1% mth/mth (Il Sole 24 Ore Radiocor) - Ottawa, 16 Aug - Total Canadian manufacturing inventory levels edged up 0.1% month on month to 121.1 billion local dollars in June, on higher inventories in 13 of 21 subsectors, according to Statistics Canada.

The inventory-to-sales ratio increased from 1.70 in May to 1.74 in June. This ratio measures the time, in months, that would be required to exhaust inventories if sales were to remain at their current level.

Total unfilled orders fell 0.8% to 105.1 billion dollars in June, primarily on lower unfilled orders in the aerospace product and parts industry group, down 1.4%.

The capacity utilization rate for the total manufacturing sector rose from 79.7% in May to 80.2% in June.
