Foreign investors buy 5.2 bln dlr of Canadian securities (Il Sole 24 Ore Radiocor) - Ottawa, 16 Aug - Foreign investors bought 5.2 billion local dollars of Canadian securities in June, down from significant investments in the previous two months, according to Statistics Canada.

Meanwhile, Canadian investors purchased 16.4 billion dollars of foreign securities, mainly US equity.

As a result, international transactions in securities generated a net outflow of funds of 11.2 billion dollars from the Canadian economy in June, following two monthly inflows in April and May totalling 57.8 billion dollars.
