Canada June employment down 0.3% mth/mth

Up 0.6% yr/yr (Il Sole 24 Ore Radiocor) - Ottawa, 29 Aug - In June, the number of Canadian payroll employment decreased by 47,300, or 0.3%, month on month, according to Statistics Canada.

The decline in June followed five consecutive monthly increases from January to May, with a cumulative gain of 147,600, or 0.8%, over the period.

On a year-over-year basis, payroll employment was up 110,400, or 0.6%, in June.

Meanwhile, job vacancies in June were little changed at 554,000. On a year-over-year basis, job vacancies were down by 190,500, or 25.6%, in June.
