Canada June CPI up 2.7% yr/yr vs 2.9% in May

Down 0.1% mth/mth (Il Sole 24 Ore Radiocor) - Ottawa, 16 Jul - Canadian consumer prices rose 2.7% on a year-over-year basis in June, down from a 2.9% gain in May, according to Statistics Canada.

The deceleration was largely the result of slower year-over-year growth in gasoline prices, which rose 0.4% in June following a 5.6% increase in May. Excluding gasoline, consumer prices rose 2.8% in June.

On a monthly basis, the prices fell 0.1% in June, following a 0.6% increase in May.
