Canada July CPI up 2.5% yr/yr vs 2.7% in June

Up 0.4% mth/mth (Il Sole 24 Ore Radiocor) - Ottawa, 20 Aug - In July, Canadian consumer prices rose 2.5% on a year-over-year basis, increasing at the slowest pace since March 2021 and down from a 2.7% gain in June 2024, according to Statistics Canada.

"Deceleration in headline inflation was broad-based, stemming from lower prices for travel tours, passenger vehicles and electricity," it said.

On a monthly basis, consumer prices rose 0.4% in July, after falling 0.1% in June. On a seasonally adjusted monthly basis, prices rose 0.3% in July.
