Bank rate at 4.5% (Il Sole 24 Ore Radiocor) - Ottawa, 04 Sep - The Bank of Canada said its governing council had decided to reduce its policy rate by 25 basis points to 4.25% with inflation still too high.

"The Bank of Canada today reduced its target for the overnight rate to 4%, with the Bank Rate at 4% and the deposit rate at 4%," it said.
