Milan posts moderate gains

News Image (Teleborsa) - Piazza Affari is slightly up, on a par with the major European bourses. Meanwhile on Wall Street the S&P-500 marks a +0.39% gain.

There is no significant change for EUR / USD which, at 1.112, is traded around previous levels. Investors are skittish as gold slides to 2,564.8 dollars per ounce. Light Sweet Crude Oil enjoys a positive session, gaining +1.76%.

The Spread remains unchanged at +131 basis points, while the Italy ten-year BTP is at +3.43%.

Among the European markets, Frankfurt is only just in the black as it climbs a scant +0.5%, London lacks momentum in this session, reflected in a moderate gain of 0.38%, and Paris makes fairly pedestrian progress (+0.51%).

Piazza Affari closes slightly up as the FTSE MIB posts a fractional gain of +0.63%, consolidating after four consecutive days of gains, which began last Thursday; similarly, the FTSE Italia All-Share inches up +0.6% to close at 35,900 points.

The FTSE Italia Mid Cap posts marginal gains (+0.27%); similarly, the FTSE Italia Star is moderately up (+0.68%).

Nexi (+4.87%), Iveco (+4.51%), Tenaris (+3.04%) and Stmicroelectronics (+2.73%) top the ranks of Milan's large-caps.

Leonardo has the worst performance, closing -4.48% down.

Investors are selling as MPS Bank records a -1.52% fall.

Campari contracts moderately by -0.79%.

Generali is subdued, shedding -0.69%.

Italmobiliare (+3.58%), D'Amico (+3.16%), Ariston Holding (+2.84%) and Industrie De Nora (+2.14%) are among Italy's top mid-cap stocks.

Ferragamo sees the heaviest sell-offs, finishing trade -4.15% lower.

A black day for Brembo, which sheds -4.11%.

El.En shows a negative session -3.75% down.

Troubled Sanlorenzo falls -2.03%.
