EU Q1 economy greenhouse gas emissions down 4.0% yr/yr

EU Q1 GDP up 0.3% yr/yr (Il Sole 24 Ore Radiocor) - Brussels , 16 Aug - In the first quarter of 2024, European Union economy greenhouse gas emissions were estimated at 894 million tonnes of C02-equivalent, a 4.0% decrease compared to the year earlier, according to data from EU statistical office Eurostat.

The decrease in emissions came as the EU's gross domestic product was broadly steady, increasing by just 0.3% in the first quarter of 2024 compared with the year earlier.
